Project Categories

The MAKE program is supporting different categories of projects with different pedagogical objectives. The aim is to maximize the use of the infrastructure available to support the student community in learning through practical projects. Discovers the project categories here under:

MAKE for EDU

Projects involving 15 to 200 students per team with students from different sections. These projects last 40 to 50 weeks and simulate a professional environement. <a href="/interdisciplinary">More info</a>

MAKE for society

These MAKE projects are more focused on systemic analysis than manufacturing

Credited

Projects which are part of an EPFL course and allow students to learn how to build rapid prototypes. <a href="/credited">More info</a>

Associative

These projects are related to the activity of an EPFL recognized student association. They are involving prototyping activities. <a href="/associative">More info</a>

Embryo

The embryo category supports small groups of students (5-10) with an idea. The embryo phase allows the team to rapid prototype and build a network of relevant stakeholders. Maximum 5 projects are supported by academic year.

Outreach

The MAKE program supports a wide variety of outreach activities at EPFL. Making the science is great, but disseminating it to society is important as well.
