Free access prototyping spaces

Free access prototyping spaces at EPFL are collaborative environments equipped with basic tools and resources where students can rapidely experiment and develop prototypes for their projects.

  • Accessible from 8am to 11:30pm after an online training
  • For ideation, meetings, computer assisted design, assembling parts, access basic tools such as a screwdriver.
  • You pay for consumables only

How to get access

01. Mandatory online training

if you want to:

  • Join a project: select your project in the list ant register to the online training.
  • Create a new project: if you have an idea of project, write to make@epfl.ch.

If you don't find your project in the list: please ask the supervisor to contact make@epfl.ch.

02. Supervisor validation

The supervisor of your project will be notified and will have to validate you as a student in the project.

03. Camipro access

24h after the supervisor validation you will have the camipro access to the following resources:

  • Envelop of the SPOT building at night (between 7:30 am to 11.30 pm) during the week days (on the weekends only for interdisciplinary projects)
  • Basic storage area – stock 1 DLLEL -1 54
  • Computer rooms and specific softwares – ELH 112 (Only for interdisciplinary projects).
  • Meeting rooms – DLLEL 1 10, 12 and 14 (Only for interdisciplinary projects).
  • (Only for some interdisciplinary projects) – Storage for bigger prototypes – stock 3 DLLEL -1 54
