The EPFL AI Team is a student association dedicated to exploring the potential of artificial intelligence through hands-on projects, collaboration, and innovation. We provide a space for students to work on cutting-edge AI technologies, while building a strong community around shared interests in AI and robotics.

Our current projects for Autumn 2024 include:

• SWARM: Test the deployment of multiple AI models on next-generation infrastructure in collaboration with ANTS AI Systems.
• REPAIR: Develop an open-source AI tool to assess repair potential, diagnose faults, and identify replacement parts.
• BARK: Build our current robot dog and design our own version to test advanced AI modules.
• GESTURE: Translate ASL into natural language using computer vision and NLP.
• T-RACE: Train AI agents to race in a custom Trackmania environment and compete!
• PAWS: Create a flexible AI walking system that helps BARK navigate different terrains.
• COOK: Use computer vision to recommend recipes based on available ingredients, making meal preparation smarter and more efficient.
• MMOODY: Enhance an emotion detector and use its outputs to recommend personalized films or music.

Our Department:

• Software Department: Coding and refining AI solutions with a focus on deep learning and reinforcement learning.
• Mechanical Department: Working on hardware, including 3D design, electronics, and microchips for our AI robots.
• Events Department: Organizing workshops, hackathons, and seminars with industry collaboration.
• Public Relations Department: Managing external communications, social media, video production, and graphic design.
