EPFL AI Team
Discover AI and apply its potential on a prototype
Ongoing Associative #Electronics #Mechanics #3D Printing #Artificial IntelligenceFounded in February 2023 with the goal of bridging the AI knowledge gap at EPFL, the EPFL AI Team serves as a hub for students to delve into the realm of AI through interdisciplinary projects, workshops, events, and competitions.
Our applied robotics projects provide a unique platform for students from diverse backgrounds to collaborate and apply their collective expertise, resulting in the creation of real-world AI solutions.
Currently, we are actively involved in the development of our inaugural prototype: a robotic dog. This robot is designed and built by Bachelor and MasterS students.
Mechanical & Structural Engineering Objective: To design and fabricate the physical components of the robot, ensuring smooth motion and a robust build. • Body frame • Legs and joints • Locomotion mechanisms
Electronics Objective: To establish a seamless electronic system to optimize the robot's functionality and coordination. • Circuit board design and integration • Sensory systems • Actuators • Power management
Software & AI Objective: To equip the robot with state-of-the-art artificial intelligence, enabling it to interact effectively with its surroundings. • Walking motion simulation • Decision-making algorithms • Computer vision systems • Natural language processing
Our ultimate goal is to gain a deep understanding of how to seamlessly integrate hardware, electronics, and AI on a large scale for the development of complex, intelligent systems.
