Aether is a student project born from the SP80 adventure.
Students that contributed to design the prototype of SP80 wanted to continue with a project to apply the experience acquired related to kite technologies.
The students of Aether are working to harvest the power of wind.
The project is pioneering an autonomous, plug-and-play kite system to cut the shipping’s greenhouse gas emissions by 20%. This solution is lightweight, non-intrusive, and easy to integrate on any vessel. Unlike complex technologies designed for massive cargo ships, Aether solution offers a simple, accessible alternative for mid-sized shipowners—helping them reduce their carbon footprint without heavy investments or major modifications.
