MGT-555 - Innovation & entrepreneurship
Description
This project based course is taught by Prof. Véronique Michaud and Prof. Thomas Weber in four modules, including Systems Engineering, Product Design Principles, Business Economics, and Prototyping Practice. A key component of the course consists of a team project, conducted in collaboration with an industry partner, addressing a significant commercial need and/or societal issue. Each year, the selected general topic is different, to ensure a good diversity of projects. A few lectures are given by domain experts. In parallel, students work in multidisciplinary teams to define a product concept, build a prototype and evaluate the market and business, as well as cost and environmental aspects of the proposed solution. At the conclusion of the course, the projects enter in a prize competition, judged by a panel of industry experts and faculty.
End-of-project objective

Number of students
There are usually 40-50 students doing this project.
