GrowBotHub
Description
GrowBotHub was part of Igluna which was an international student project to build a habitat demonstrator for sustaining life in an extreme environment such as the Moon. Igluna was coordinated by the Swiss Space Center and based on an initiative of the European Space Agency (@ESA_Lab CH).
GrowBotHub was aiming for a fully automated system to grow and harvest vegetables in extreme environments. The main focus of the team was to design an autonomous system that was going to minimize the required resources. Therefore, they were using aeroponics and fogponics to grow the vegetables.
End-of-project objective
Participate to the IGLUNA field campaign during the summer.
Number of students
There are usually 25-40 students doing this project.
